BLUF: Obtaining a facility clearance is a challenge for small businesses, but after you’ve accomplished that feat – now what? Hear from the experts on how to maintain a successful security program, best practices to deploy National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) compliance, and the importance of DCSA oversight. Also learn what happens and how to respond to an investigation if a security incident does occur.
Purpose: To provide the small business community an opportunity to hear from the experts on how to maintain a successful industrial security program, best practices, expectations, discussions on how to address various security-related issues.

DCSA Panel (30 Minutes)
- Post-facility clearance issuance actions and roles of assigned DCSA personnel
- Onset of facility clearance (beginning)
- Facility Clearance maintenance: Management, training, self-inspections, importance of continuous reporting (adverse, suspicious, changed conditions)
- Security review activities and what to expect
- Changes in security requirements: Approval of classified storage; information systems; mailing
- Communication with supporting DCSA personnel
AFMC Panel (30 Minutes)
- Basic expectations: FAR 52.204-2 requirements; safeguarding of classified; NISPOM compliance
- DD Form 254 significance
- On-installation classified performance
Joint DCSA/AFMC Panel (30 Minutes)
Sub-satisfactory industrial security programs:
- DCSA – Discuss impacts of sub-satisfactory industrial security programs (cause/effect) e.g. Sub-satisfactory security review rating, invalidation actions, and surrounding activities (CTR mitigation activities, compliance reviews – as appliable)
- AFMC – Discuss government customer role when industrial security program is identified as being sub-satisfactory and when DCSA takes adverse actions against the facility clearance
Security violations:
- DCSA – Define what a security violation is, discuss expectations - coordination with assigned DCSA personnel/data spills
- AFMC – Government customer involvement
