About the Session
Are you ready to team up for the Future Series and help transform space defense? The Adaptive & Intelligent Space Challenge calls for partnerships between small businesses and research institutions. This first-of-its-kind SpaceWERX STTR Challenge, launching on September 24, 2025, seeks breakthrough solutions that enable autonomous space systems to make split-second decisions without relying on ground control.
In this one-hour virtual speed networking event, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Network with other innovators looking to collaborate
- Connect with industry partners actively seeking academic collaborators
- Showcase your research expertise to potential commercial teammates
- Discover new opportunities through industry partnerships
Whether you're a small business without existing academic ties or looking to expand your research network, this session is designed to spark collaborations that drive breakthrough solutions.
- Who Should Attend
Small Businesses: Looking to partner with a research institution to qualify for STTR submissions, license university technologies, co-develop solutions, collaborate with other industry partners, or explore future contracting opportunities. - Research Institutions & Universities: Seeking commercial partners to bring technologies to market, co-develop new solutions, or license research assets.
Event Format
- Challenge Overview (5 min) – Learn about the Adaptive & Intelligent Space Challenge, eligibility requirements, and STTR submission timeline.
- Targeted Networking (55 min) – Pre-assigned breakout sessions grouped by technical area (e.g., propulsion, AI/ML, satellite systems, materials). Each participant will have 1–2 minutes to introduce their capabilities before open discussion.
Maximizing Your Networking Experience
When registering, you’ll be asked to provide:
- A short blurb about your organization and technical expertise
- Website or portfolio link
- Your Challenge focus area of interest
This information will be shared with all registered participants one day before the event, allowing both industry and academia to preview potential partners. Research institutions are responsible for reaching out directly to industry if they wish to pursue a potential partnership. Industry email addresses will be shared with webinar participants. Research institution contacts will only be shared with explicit permission.
